Following appeals from party stakeholders from across the country, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of its electronic membership registration exercise to February 8, 2026.

The decision agreed upon during the party’s 183rd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, at its national secretariat in Abuja, aims to allow more supporters and members to register and validate their memberships.

APC, in a statement made available to newsmen by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, also revealed adjustments to its internal election timelines, saying that the Ward Congresses, originally planned earlier, will now take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, while the National Convention had been rescheduled for March 27-28, 2026.

The statement further revealed that certain states, including Osun.and Ekiti states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had been exempted from the upcoming congresses, saying that they were excluded due to impending elections in those areas, while Rivers State would not participate because of the ongoing tenure of its current party executive committees.

According to the statement, the party's NWC also confirmed the formation of the National Convention Planning Committee to oversee preparations for the event, saying that further details on the revised congress and convention timetable, schedule of activities, and the committee’s composition would be released soon.

Morka emphasized that these changes reflected the party’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring broad participation in its processes, assuring that APC would continue to focus on strengthening its membership base ahead of future electoral activities.
