Former Governor of Rivers State, Dr Peter Odili, has assured Governor Siminalayi Fubara of his support amid the political crisis rocking the state, affirming Fubara as the political leader of the state.
Odili gave this assurance at an event in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, and further assured that assured Governor Fubara that the people of the state were firmly with him, urging him to stand strong.
"Your people are with you, and they have asked me to tell you that you are the political leader of Rivers State.
"Rivers people said that wherever you go, we will go with you. Wherever you stand, we will stand with you. You are standing on firm ground. Stand there and hold on to God," he said
Odili’s remarks at the event followed the renewed face-off between Governor Fubara and his political godfather, the incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike.
