A chieftain of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Mohammed Agboola Emiabata, has highlighted the need for change, assuring a new era of responsive and people-centered representation for people of Ojo in Lagos State, come 2027.
Emiabata, a House of Representatives aspirant in the coming general election, made this vow, while addressing key politicians and stakeholders at a political gathering which took place in Ojo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, for a landmark political mobilization, ahead of the general polls.
The event was graced by leaders and dignitaries of the ADC from across the state, including ADC Chairman in Southwest, Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, the State Chairman, Hon.George Ashiru ably represented, by Ojo ADC Local Government Chairman, Adebiyi Lukman, and Pastor Kayode Jacobs, among others.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, at the occasion, which showcased his unwavering commitment, capacity, and determination to steer the local government away from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and into ADC, Emiabata expressed strong dedication to prioritizing their needs, ensuring transparency, accountability, and development across all sectors.
The politician, therefore, reiterated the need for change, promising a new era of responsive representation that would adequately address the needs of the people in the area.
The gathering also served as a reunion of political allies, with notable figures from different interests, pledging their support for Emiabata's vision and the ADC’s mission to bring progressive change to the local government.
Chairman, Southwest ADC, Hon. Owokoniran, in his remark, welcomed Emiabata and his supporters into the fold, describing the development as a strategic boost for the party in Ojo Federal Constituency.
Owokoniran reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots base in the state, saying that ADC was building a credible platform for progressive Nigerians.
"ADC is building a credible platform for progressive Nigerians,” he said.
The party chieftain, therefore, admonished members to pursue mobilization with utmost seriousness so as to ensure a victorious 2027 for the party.
Also speaking, Pastor Jacobs reminded the crowd on the need to collectively build a virile party, saying that without a party there cannot be candidates and, therefore, the need to work towards that.
"We must, therefore, work together to build a virile ADC," Jacobs said, even as he urged for harmonious relationships across board.
With strategic plans in place and growing momentum, Emiabata’s mobilization sends a strong message of his readiness to lead Ojo into a brighter political future as the enthusiastic crowd echoed him as " the new Sheriff in town."
The event, graced by leaders and dignitaries of the ADC from the South West, from the State and the Local government, ended with renewed assurances and excitement among attendees, signaling a shift in the political landscape of Ojo Federal Constituency.
