Lagos State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the successful conduct of the ongoing party’s e-Registration exercise, describing it as a landmark achievement in strengthening internal democracy, party cohesion, and grassroots participation as the nation counts down to the 2027 General Elections.
The party noted that the overwhelming turnout and seamless adoption of the digital registration platform clearly demonstrated the growing confidence of Lagosians and Nigerians at large in the APC and its progressive ideals, saying that the exercise had not only expanded the party’s membership base but had also provided a transparent, credible, and verifiable database that reflected the true strength of APC across wards, local governments, and constituencies.
APC said this in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, copy of which was made available to newsmen on Monday, further noting that the success of the exercise had further engendered internal democracy within the party by providing a level playing ground for both old and new members to formally register, thereby qualifying them to vote and be voted for in line with it's constitution.
According to the party, its insistence on the possession of a valid Voters’ Card and National Identification Number (NIN) as prerequisites for registration was a master-stroke, adding: "This inclusive approach reinforces fairness, participation, and trust among members."
"The implications of registering over ten million members nationwide are profound. This remarkable figure is a further confirmation of the APC as a political party with deep-rooted structures and a formidable presence across the crannies and corners of the country. Such a widespread and verifiable membership base speaks to the party’s acceptability, organizational strength, and enduring connection with the grassroots.
"Indeed, this sheer and unprecedented number provides the APC with a significant head start as the nation approaches the next elections-one that should understandably give the opposition cause for serious concern and restless nights. It underscores the APC’s readiness, capacity for mass mobilization, and strategic advantage going into the electoral season.
"The Lagos APC commends party leaders, officials, and volunteers at all levels for their dedication and discipline throughout the exercise. We also appreciate the enthusiasm and cooperation of party members and new registrants who embraced the process in the collective interest of a stronger and more united APC.
"As preparations intensify towards the next elections, the Lagos APC remains confident that the successful e-Registration exercise has laid a solid foundation for electoral victory.
