Youth corps members in the education space have been charged to give their students all that they need in every area to be able to realize their dream.
Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, gave this charge on Wednesday in his keynote address at the "Induction and Training of Y2025 Corps on Pedagogy of Education," which took place at Adeyeml Bero Auditorium, and organized by his Ministry for the youth corps members in the education sector.
He said: "Today marks not just the beginning of a training exercise, but the commencement of a noble journey - a journey that places you at the heart of shaping minds, building character and strengthening the future of our dear state and nation."
The commissioner stated that the training on pedagogy is not merely about teaching but about understanding how students learn, appreciating diversity in the classroom, adopting learner centred methodologies and applying modern instructional strategies that inspired curiosity and critical thinking.

"This training is to equip corps members with classroom management techniques, curriculum delivery strategies ethical standards and professional conduct, child protection principles, continuous assessment and evaluation methods and integration of digital tools in teaching and learning," Ogunlende stated.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, (Pharm) Mrs Toyin Oke-osanyintolu, noted that education is one of the pillars of THEMES plus Agenda of the present administration because it remains one of the most powerful tools, adding that the state had also prioritized innovative and inclusive strategies that improve learning outcomes and equip the young people with the knowledge skills and values required to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
According to Oke-osanyintolu, the training which is both timely and strategic was not meant only to impact academic performance but also the social, emotional and moral development of the young people as a way of preparing them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
Mr Bolaji Olaleye, Mr Oyenuga Adetomi, Mr Ogundeyi Adewale, Mrs Bolanle Alamu and Mr Makinde Philips who were the resource persons took the participants on "E-learning and Teaching," "Character Moulding of Pupils from their Formative Stage," "Updated School Curriculum" and "Technological Advantage of Eko Excel Initiative."
