A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR, has reaffirmed his interest in contesting the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State.
Adediran reiterated this in a broadcast aired on Thursday across multiple media platforms, where he reflected on the evolving political landscape ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The party chieftain stated that with the signing of the new Electoral Act 2026 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the successful conclusion of party congresses nationwide, the political process is naturally progressing toward the emergence of party candidates for the 2027 General Elections.
This was just as JANDOR recalled that he publicly declared his intention to contest the Lagos governorship election as far back as October 2025, noting that the early declaration was a deliberate step aimed at stimulating constructive engagement on the future of governance and development in the state.
JANDOR emphasized that his aspiration is anchored on years of experience as a student of governance, with a strong understanding of structure, systems, administration, and leadership, which he described as critical pillars for effective and sustainable governance.
Re-echoing a popular maxim often expressed by President Tinubu that "power is not served à la carte," JANDOR stated that President Tinubu demonstrated this principle through his determined pursuit of leadership during the 2023 Presidential Election, adding that any serious aspirant must be courageous, bold, and willing to openly express conviction about providing leadership and serving the people.
The APC governorship aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to engaging party members and the people of Lagos as the political process unfolds, with the shared goal of building a more progressive and prosperous state.
