Lagos APC Swears In New Exco

Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has sworn in newly elected executive committee members across its local government and ward structures, urging them to demonstrate diligence and commitment to the ideals of the party.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, which took place on Friday at the party secretatiat on ACME Road, Ikejaon Friday in Ikeja, APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, equally called on members to be united and shun divisive tendency ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Ojelabi said the inauguration marked a critical step in strengthening the party’s organisational framework ahead of future electoral engagements.

“We found you worthy to be elected to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years. Your role is critical to the growth and consolidation of the party,” he said.

Ojelabi noted that the success of the party in Lagos over the years was largely due to its strong grassroots network and further urged the newly sworn-in executives to sustain the tradition.

According to him, the responsibility before them is enormous, saying that they must be diligent in the discharge of their duties and remain committed to the ideals of the party.

Ojelabi, while noting that the executives were elected through a democratic process and must work collectively to strengthen the party’s presence in their respective wards and local government areas, pointed out that they were assuming office at a critical period for the party and, therefore, their leadership would be vital in consolidating the achievements recorded by the party in the state over the years.

He further charged them to work closely with local government party leadership and intensify mobilisation at the grassroots.

“Work starts immediately. Let the leadership in your local government know you have been sworn in, and work together to strengthen the party’s structure,” he said.

The chairman assured the new executives of the support of the party leadership and the state government in ensuring the continued growth and success of the party.

He also reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusive participation and grassroots development, noting that effective leadership at the ward and local government levels remained crucial to maintaining the APC’s political strength in Lagos State.
