Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has predicted that there could be a revolution in the country as Nigerians are being pushed to the wall following alleged violation of human rights.
Atiku expressed this concern on Thursday night when he paid a solidarity visit to the former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, who clashed with security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on his return from Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.
Atiku, while speaking during the visit, said the authorities must have learnt lessons from the way Nigerians at the airport resisted the arrest, noting that "there could be a revolution in this country because people will no longer accept the violation of their human rights."
This was as he pointedly declared that what happened at the airport between the former governor and the security operatives was absolutely uncalled for.
"I hope they will learn from what they saw at the airport because it was people on their own that resisted the arrest.
"What they don’t understand is that there could be a revolution in this country because people will no longer accept the violation of their human rights.
