The Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSA) has warned residents to stop harassing its officials while conducting their lawful activities, saying that any attempt to obstruct, intimidate, or harass government personnel in the discharge of their lawful duties was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
The Agency gave the warning in a statement on Thursday as it strongly condemned what it described as the "unruly and unacceptable conduct" displayed by one John Kollyns, who allegedly harassed its officials during a lawful enforcement exercise on illegal signage structures.
The Agency said its officers were carrying out their statutory responsibilities in line with the enabling laws of Ondo State when the incident happened, adding that video evidence which confirmed the incident had forwarded to the appropriate authorities for necessary action in accordance with the law.
"Any attempt to obstruct, intimidate, or harass government personnel in the discharge of their lawful duties is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
"We confirm that there is video evidence of the incident. The footage has been preserved and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for necessary action in accordance with the law.
"The Agency remains committed to maintaining professionalism, orderliness, and adherence to due process in all enforcement activities.
"We urge members of the public to cooperate with government officials and channel any grievances through lawful means," the statement said.
