2027: You're bereft of ideas on governance, APC tells ADC

By Our Reporter

Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the  African Democratic Congress (ADC) of being bereft of ideas about governance for accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of focussing on 2027 campaign, rather than finding solutions to the problems facing the country.

Recalled that ADC had in a statement, issued on Wednesday, challenged Tinubu of embarking on campaign, rather than focusing on challenges confronting the country.

APC, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, in reaction to the accusation, stated that President Tinubu was governing Nigeria, and not campaigning.

The party described ADC outburst as nothing short of political comedy coming from a party that failed to win a councillorship election in its own backyard, to accuse the President Tinubu of embarking on "early campaigns," declaring that the opposition party was confused because "leadership is a language they neither understand nor speak."

"It is nothing short of political comedy for a party that cannot win a councillorship election in its own backyard to accuse the President of 'early campaigns.'

"When a party has no structure, no ideas, no national footprint, and no future, the only option left is to bark at every moving shadow in hope of getting noticed." the party said.

APC stated that ADC was party that had never contributed one actionable idea to national security and should not insult Nigerians by pretending to care now, adding: "When the nation was bleeding from the 16-year misrule of its political ancestors, where was the ADC’s voice?"

The ruling party added that Nigeria cannot freeze because the ADC wanted silence, saying that President Tinubu must communicate, mobilize, direct, and reassure Nigerians every single day, while a party addicted only to irrelevance would confuse governance with campaigns.

"President Tinubu will not reduce his leadership tempo to accommodate the insecurity of a party whose electoral value cannot fill a classroom.

"A President must communicate, mobilize, direct, and reassure - every single day. Only a party addicted to irrelevance will confuse governance with campaigns.

"President Tinubu will not reduce his leadership tempo to accommodate the insecurity of a party whose electoral value cannot fill a classroom.

"Stop dragging 2027 into every issue - the election you stand no chance of winning.

"It is always amusing that a party struggling for survival is the one crying most loudly about 2027," the statement said.

"The APC is governing; the ADC is daydreaming. The contrast is glaring," it declared.
