The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has felicitated with Nigerians for the 2026 New Year celebration, urging the citizens to collaborate with it to unseat what it describes as "the incompetent and corrupt government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 General Elections."
CUPP made the call in its New Year's message to Nigerians, signed by its National Spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, copy of which was made available to newsmen, decrying the current socioeconomic situations in the country, which it said the citizens had "to endure due to the egregiously incompetent government currently in power in Nigeria."
According to coalition, most basic household items are too expensive and out of the reach of most Nigerians, noting that everyday, cost of living was skyrocketing whilst standards of living continued to plummet rapidly and while on the contrary, those in government were living in obscene opulence.
"The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, wishes to felicitate with Nigerians in this festive Season despite the horrible socioeconomic situations in the country that we all have to endure due to the egregiously incompetent government currently in power in Nigeria. Most basic household items are too expensive and out of the reach of most Nigerians. Everyday, cost of living is skyrocketing whilst standards of living continue to plummet rapidly but those in government are living in obscene opulence funded by looted public resources," CUPP said.
CUPP observed that In the last ten years under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) regimes, Nigerians had been besieged by excruciating insecurity, hunger, infrastructure decays, and punitive economic conditions, which it said had depleted the capacity of the people to function even minimally.
This was just as it alleged that the gains accruable from fuel subsidy removal end up in private pockets of the president's cronies and family members, whilst Nigerians are left to the mercy of non-state actors.
Speaking further, CUPP, while declaring that the APC government had nothing tangible to offer this country but only thrive on propaganda and lies, call on Nigerians to collaborate with it to unseat what it alleged as "the incompetent and corrupt government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 General Elections through the ballot for Nigeria to make progress."
"In the last ten years under the APC regimes, Nigerians have been besieged by excruciating insecurity, hunger, infrastructure decays, and punitive economic conditions that have depleted the capacity of the people to function even minimally.
"The APC runs a government predicated solely on propaganda and lies that only administer false hopes to Nigerians. Most of the gains accruable from fuel subsidy removal end up in private pockets. Whilst Nigerians are left to the mercy of non-state actors, the president's son moves around with a battalion of a combined team of soldiers and policemen.
"As we have often stated, the APC and Tinubu have nothing tangible to offer this country beyond self-centered lootocracy and egregious misuse of power. Therefore, we call on Nigerians to collaborate with us to unseat the incompetent and corrupt government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections through the ballot for Nigeria to make progress," the coalition stated.
The coalition, while making the call, reiterated the importance of citizens registering massively in order to vote out the current government.
"Therefore, if Nigerians register massively and go out to vote massively, it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for election riggers to succeed again. Let us all cooperate and collaborate to make save Nigeria's democracy from the purveyors of a one-Party state," CUPP said.
