A mass movement, under the aegis of the New Direction for Nigeria Movement (NDNM), has strongly condemned the implementation of what it alleged was illegally gazetted laws and a "forged variant of the Bill passed by the National Assembly."
The Movement gave this position in a press release signed by its Convener, Comrade Mark Adebayo, copy of which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday, alleging that the new tax regime currently being implemented by the Federal Government was a fraudulent document orchestrated by the Presidency in order to execute the satanic policies that this administration had "preconceived to weaponize poverty to subjugate Nigerians with a view to weakening the citizens to a level that they would not have the capacity to challenge the government's corruption and misrule."
The Movement further alleged that the illegally gazetted tax laws which it said was a forged document and variant of the Bill passed by the National Assembly further raised question about Tinubu's administration, saying for that to have been done meant that "Nigeria has been reduced into a banana Republic governed by whims and caprices of those at the helm of affairs today."

"That a government would decide to forge a set of laws duly passed by the National Assembly of a nation and brazenly gazetted same is a pure definition of advanced graft and absolute moral decay. Nigeria has been reduced into a banana Republic governed by whims and caprices of those at the helm of affairs today," the statement said.
Comrade Mark said that the Tinubu administration was on a mission to render Nigeria a failed state, pointing out that Nigeria did not deserve a government that "is unable or unwilling to secure its country, unable or unwilling to provide quality education, unable or unwilling to provide good infrastructures, unable or unwilling to provide food, that is unwilling to allow effective opposition and actively destroying other political parties to turn Nigeria into a one-Party state."
Mark said that had been the reason the Movement was calling on Nigerians not to only make sure that they voted out the Tinubu Presidency in 2027, but should also follow a new direction by electing a serious and credible presidential candidate who had demonstrable capacity to govern well and is able to mobilize Nigerians around a purpose and set national transformation objectives to turn the country around in the shortest possible time, declaring that the current administration had failed woefully."
